thoughts on WordPress
i’m slowly getting the hang of features & functions of WordPress, however there are some limitations i’ve discovered that are a little bothersome. for one, you can’t add your own HTML based widgets into the sidebar the way you can on blogger, which i really liked for the ability to post in my Last.FM stats.
the addition of the WordPress application to the arsenal known as my iPhone is definitely a nice touch, and probably reason enough for me to not even bother with checking out TypePad (like i would actually pay for a blog anyhow).
You are probably right to stay with WordPress. I left TypePad and and the ability to add scripts in my widgets for TypePad, and what I found was in fact a lot more functionality than I imagines at first. There really is no need to pay for TypePad, when you can get more value for money at WordPress.
